This case study explores the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design of the SixPackAbs.com mobile app, a platform dedicated to guiding individuals on achieving six-pack abs through science-based workouts and nutrition strategies. The focus here is on the strategies employed by the app to deliver an intuitive, engaging, and seamless experience for its users. At it’s peak, Sixpack served millions of people and 4.6+ million subscribers on Youtube and thriving supplements business.
The original SixPackAbs mobile app and design was identified as suboptimal and lacked professional design input. Users had reported issues with outdated design elements, challenging navigation, and inconsistent branding. The overall lack of interactivity further contributed to a less-than-ideal user experience. To address these concerns, a comprehensive UI/UX redesign was recommended, focusing on modern design principles, streamlined navigation, brand consistency, and enhanced interactive features. This initiative aimed to not only elevate the visual appeal of the app but also improve user engagement and satisfaction.
The primary objective of the SixPackAbs mobile app was to rebuild an existing app as part of a rebrand initiative from SixpackShortcuts to SixpackAbs. The goal of tis new app is provide users with a comprehensive and user-friendly interface that facilitates easy navigation and access to science-based fitness content. The app aims to deliver a seamless user experience, ensuring that individuals can effortlessly engage with workouts, nutrition plans, and other valuable resources. In doing these items, our goal was improve customer subscription retention.
Ray Frias, as the lead designer on this project, I was presented the opportunity to be responsible for SixPackAbs mobile app and embody design excellence. The leadership’s commitment to creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional app is reflected in the overall user interface. The design team leverages industry best practices to enhance usability and optimize the user journey.
